Wednesday, April 24 is our next meeting. It's a little bit earlier -  at 11:30, at Blue Moon Grill in Nags Head! RSVP to Francine Kennedy by Tuesday morning  at deechie1@msn.com
Bring a retired friend of education!

Meet the
Dare County Unit
of the NCRSP

We are the Dare County Unit of the North Carolina Retired School Personnel (NCRSP), the retired division of the North Carolina Education Association (NCAE), and the only state association dedicated solely to working on behalf of all retired education personnel. Please join us in our mission to strengthen the education retiree voice in North Carolina by becoming an NCRSP member. NCRSP gives you the opportunity to stay professionally and socially engaged with colleagues through Dare County activities, regional and state conventions.

We look forward to having you join us as a part of our active, engaged retired educator community. We meet on a monthly basis during the school year, at noon on the 4th Wednesday of each month (with Nov./Dec. combined) at a specified restaurant in our community (see  dropdown under "Schedule").

The Dare County Unit enjoys going out to lunch to meet as a business group and as a social group, interested in retirement actions and political activities: after all, we may be retired, but that doesn't mean we're lethargic! Our President starts the meeting with business, having the committee chairs speak, as well.  Often, we have a brief presentation by people in the field of education. We also focus on our community service: donating to various food shelters, working with Food For Thought (a Dare County workshop), and collecting for our Scholarship Fund.  The end of the meeting is specifically created for this: ticketed numbers are given out to all who buy them, and prizes from sponsors are awarded to the lucky winners! The Dare County Retired School Personnel Educators provide scholarships to the qualifying Dare County High School seniors who plan to major in Education upon continuing their education.  Applications are available at all three high schools in Dare County, with member of the group interviewing potential candidates for this scholarship.
